Herbalife Gran Canaria was under control during the game to keep an important win versus Iberostar Tenerife.
It was a special day -Iberostar Tenerife, the team from neighboring island, visited Herbalife Gran Canaria in a rivalry duel. Both teams had an impressive first quarter, with a lot of players showing their hot hands from beyond the arc. With some points from DJ Seeley and Albert Oliver, Granca was over seven points after one (30:23).
Things got even with Iberostar Tenerife scoring easily from the three point line -they hit 5 of 6 from 6,75 meters in the first minutes of the second quarter to take some advantage. However, Herbalife Gran Canaria quickly improve to stop the streak and ended the first half with a four points lead (51:47).
In spite of that, Iberostar Tenerife had once again a great start off in the third quarter, taking once again the lead. Herbalife Gran Canaria struggled in offense for some minutes, showing bad shooting and some bad decisions. But DJ Seeley had some good shoots coming in and Herbalife Gran Canaria won by seven with one last quarter to play (72:67).
In the final minutes, Granca was better at controlling the tempo of the game and also the nerves. Albert Oliver, who ended with 18 points, was crucial in the final win (90:80).
