The 26-years-old is the first new player for the upcoming 2015-16 season.
Pablo Aguilar Bermudez (born February 9, 1989) will be wearing Herbalife Gran Canaria’s jersey for the next two seasons after he and the club reached an agreement.
However, if any NBA team makes an offer to the player before July 19, he’ll be free to join that NBA franchise.
Aguilar is a 2,05 meters Power Forward who started to play at Real Madrid Youth teams. He made his debut as a pro with the team on the first game of 2006/07 season. He was 17 years old and could scored his first two points in ACB.
But where he truly make himself a name in the professional stage was in Granada. He spent two years in his home city and played at a high level while proving he deserved to be playing in the ACB.
He averaged 9,4 points and 5,1 rebounds and signed with CAI Zaragoza. He was there for three seasons and he turned into one of the best Spanish players in the league. Therefore, he was selected to play at 2013 Eurobasket with Spanish National Team. After that, he went to play for Valencia Basket.
After contributing to the achievement of Eurocup Championship in 2014, he spent last season with Valencia and, a few weeks ago, he went into free agency.
Pablo Aguilar, who was selected by Coach Sergio Scariolo for the pre-squad of Spanish National Team for the upcoming 2015 Eurobasket, will be playing the NBA Summer League with Dallas Mavericks starting next July 10.
